Not yet. Orphie is in development for iPhone and Android and isn’t in the App Store or Google Play. This page is updated when that changes.

Tap Start shift when your work begins. Orphie uses your phone’s location to count business miles while the shift runs. Tap Pause for personal driving and Resume when you’re back on the job. Tap End shift when you’re done, check the summary, and tap Save shift.

So it can keep counting miles when your screen locks during a shift. Orphie only uses location while a shift is running. It stops when you pause. After you tap End shift, it keeps logging for at most 10 minutes, less once you’re parked, in case you meant to keep going; if you save, that extra stretch is dropped. It never tracks you between shifts.

On your phone. Orphie has no account and no sign-in, and the app never sends your trips or vehicle details to us. When you end a shift, it asks your phone’s map service (Apple’s on iPhone, usually Google’s on Android) for the city and state where the shift started and ended. If your phone’s own backup (iCloud Backup or Android Backup) is on, it may include Orphie’s data in your Apple or Google account. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Yes. You can correct a saved shift, and Orphie marks it as edited and keeps the original GPS miles in the record. You can also delete a shift, which removes it from your phone for good. You can delete a vehicle that has no shifts.

No. It’s your business miles multiplied by the IRS standard mileage rate for the date of the shift, shown as an estimate. Orphie keeps records; it doesn’t give tax or legal advice. Ask a tax professional about your own return.
